Activities :
The club has participated in the nationwide campaign of the "red feather" and got a rather acceptable result of NOK 37.093,50.
Our club has arranged a teacher´s course for using the norwegian edition of the lions quest program. Now all teachers in our community are certified to use that program wich is named "det er mitt valg" in norwegian or "that is my choice" freely translated. October 30th we ha a fish party and over 60 guests, and at the same day we had our 1st zone meeting. Our club gave NOK 5000 for helping those in need after that earthquake in SE-Asia newly. May, 8th our club will participate in the nationwide campaign against drug abuse by selling tulips (see hompage of district 104 A).
October 30th the club will arrange a fish evening at the local hotel, non lions accepted. This is a norwegian speciality called "lutefisk" and we have tried that last year in october and had about 90 guests. The fish is fished and prepared by a lions friend from the Lions Club of Loppa, further north of ours. If you are in the area, be welcome!
Our club managed to sell 3000 tulips against drug abuse. The club sponsored the boyleague in soccer with NOK 10.000,- for participation in the Norway Cup, the world´s largets soccer event for boys and girls from many different countries.
All players from Skjervoy has fastened the official norwegian "Nei til Narkotika" (no to drug abuse) on their official shirts so they can show everyone. Our members are quite proud of the gift we could give!
August 2004: Our soccer boys did quite well in the Norway Cup, they reached 1/8 finals and all are very proud for what they have achieved.
Our Club will arrange a new "Lions Quest" teacher´s cursus september 30th to october 1st.
We start meeting again second wednesday in september after a long and sunny vacation.
Ultimo august our new home page will be to find on the net,be welcome.There will be news in english and german language too.
